    Women’s Self-Defense- (13-year-olds and up)

    Southwest Portland Martial Arts is pleased to be offering up a Women’s Self-Defense class to the general public, this time specifically geared towards female teens! Open to (mature 13-year-olds and up) this class will focus on exposure to basic physical (and mental) Self-Defense skills. Includes awareness drills to help increase one’s “Situational Awareness IQ” as well as [age appropriate] fighting techniques drawn from various Martial Arts, and law enforcement considerations. Some Q & A time will be allowed for at the end of the class.

    No prior experience necessary! Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and bring a water bottle. Attend with a friend, on your own, or feel free to include a female adult in class (or watching from the sidelines).

    Sifu Wally Jones is the head instructor at Southwest Portland Martial Arts, holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Mo Duk Pai, and has practiced Martial Arts in one form or another for 20 years. He, and female students from his school will be leading this class.

    This class takes place at Southwest Portland Martial Arts, 1509 SW Sunset Blvd, (however the school entrance faces Cheltenham Street) and will be limited to 15 active participants.     Every Sunday in September and October this year, we will be hosting a Judo class at 1pm.  The class will be led by a teacher fromPortland Judo.  The purpose of the class will be to provide a 9 week intro to Judo: falls, throws and locks.

    Register by July 15th(early bird registration) – $125.

    Register on/after July 16th – $150.

    Dates- Sundays weekly from September 4, 2016 to October 30, 2016
